According to Variety, Sony "hopes to move quickly into production". Sony announced yesterday that they've aquired the rights, and want to turn it into a multi-film tentpole franchise.
#Exedore my time to be a star movie
That live-action Robotech movie that's been sitting in development hell since at least 2009 may finally be moving forward.

I used Testors Spray Enamel #1258 Flat White, and it took pretty much the entire can. The primer is Duplicolor as usual, and contrary to my earlier plans I ended up going with white as the base color, rather than the very light FS36495 gray. I've gotten all three modes for the six VTs (that's 18 actual miniatures, if you're keeping count) assembled, greened, primed and painted with their base coat. I've been saving up rather than posting a few entries here and there. ―Corporal Molly Taylor, 42nd Assault Battalion (Destroid), as quoted in Launch Day by Alice Ndika "Official accounts tend to gloss over it, but there were dismounted Zentraedi infantry deployed into Macross City along with the battle pods. ―Captain William Carlisle, Mighty Wings: A Pilot's Eye View of the Robotech War And those tri-fighters were no less surprised than anti-uni MiG pilots when they'd get on the six of a VT, only to have it drop trou and flip up behind them." But the Zennies, whoever they'd fought before, obviously never encountered anything like a Tomahawk or a Spartan. After all, we'd found Zentraedi bodies and mecha in the SDF-1 when it first arrived. "We came as a surprise to the Zentraedi, even more than they did to us. Hence the unflattering nicknames like "turkey" and "aluminum cloud". Actually, it isn't that the Valk is small, but that the Tomcat is a really big fighter. Different continuity, I know, but there's very few details about the anti-Unification rebels in the Robotech canon, beyond that they exist.Īnd then, next paycheck I had to add some F-14As, because the Tomcat is still my favorite plane of all time.ĭuring our second Robotech Tactics game, John mentioned he had once seen scale models of the F-14 and VF-1 next to each other, and been surprised at how much smaller the Valkyrie is. As with the Hornets, I intend to paint the '29s in Robotech colors, in this case the anti-Unification markings worn by the MiG-29s in Macross Zero. At least until my next order, which will include some MiG-29s. Which now has air cover.Īnd secondly, they can proxy MiG-23s to provide the Hornets with adversaries.

But before it did I ordered a crapload of stuff from GHQ. The project foundered largely because we never found a ruleset we liked. Way back when, my friend johnlh and I had a half-formed idea to game out a "what-if" world war III set around 1983 or so. I chose them to do double duty: first, as air support for my already existing collection of GHQ Soviet ground forces. The '27 is a MiG-23 fighter modified for ground attack. I also sprang for a pair of MiG-27 Floggers. I intend to paint them in UEDF colors and use some leftover UEDF arrowhead insignia from the Robotech Tactics decal sheets. First I ordered a pair of F/A-18E Super Hornets, because that's what Ranma Saotome, the titular Dragon Lady of Macross, flew before being transferred to Macross Island to join the first VF-1 training squadron. All of these are from GHQ Micro Armour, one of the best sources of 1/285 scale miniatures. Thanks to Robotech Tactics I've also been inspired to pick up some real-world fighters in the same scale.
